What sets War Week apart is the fact that each day, students and leaders have the opportunity to go out in the community and put into practice what they are being taught in the sanctuary. Our leaders prep and train participants in witnessing, praying with people in the community, and leading people to Christ. Each day, youth groups are paired together with other groups in teams to go out in the community and "adopt a block" to clean, evangelize and canvas. At the end of the week, groups will host a block party on their block where they have opportunities to pray and share with individuals in the community.
Get ready to have your life changed! War Week opens the pulpit to some of the most dynamic preachers, teachers, authors, and pastors from around the world. You will hear from pastors such as Pastor Jim Cymbala from the Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York. War Week participants have also been blessed by teachers and evangelists such as Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Dr. RT Kendall, Jeanne Mayo, Tim Dilena, Jacob Aranza, and so many more. Every service welcomes a POWERFUL altar call time where leaders can pour into their youth and really watch God do some amazing things!
War Week offers one of the greatest worship experiences that you will encounter! From our very own worship teams at Revival Tabernacle, to internationally know recording artists, grammy award winners, and chart topping worship leaders, singers, and even pastors. Artists like Devin Gough, Lisa Harrell, Marcus Cole, Pastor Marvin L. Winans, and more. The "War Week Sound" crosses many cultural and ethnic lines, from gospel, to contemporary... from Fred Hammond, to Chris Tomlin. Not only will you be blessed and feel the freedom to worship, but you may even take home some new favorite songs of your own.
War Week is four days of challenging preaching, prayer and practice. Every year, hundreds of high school students pack the sanctuary of Revival Tabernacle Church in Detroit, MI for a week to hear from a handful of the nation’s finest youth communicators and participate in challenging ministries in the inner-city streets.
The Primary Initiatives of War Week are to:
1)Cultivate spiritual growth through teaching and discipleship.
2)Give students a hands-on missions and service experience.
